Kanab sits in the middle of the Grand Circle. Zion and Bryce Canyon are each a little over an hour away, and Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument starts at the edge of town. Across the Arizona line are the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (open mid-May to mid-October), Lake Powell and Glen Canyon, and the slot canyons of Antelope Canyon on Navajo land, which take some planning: tours must be booked ahead.
