Golden Spike Museum

One of the greatest technological achievements of the 19th century is the completion of the first transcontinental railroad across the United States. Visitors to the park can see the location of the Last Spike Site, 1869 railroad construction features, walk or drive on the original railroad grade, and get an up close view of Victorian era replica locomotives.

Spiral Jetty

American sculptor Robert Smithson’s most important piece of land art. Built in 1970 on the northeastern shore of the Great Salt Lake near Rozel Point in Utah entirely of mud, salt crystals, and basalt rocks. Spiral Jetty forms a 1,500-foot-long (460 m), 15-foot-wide (4.6 m) counterclockwise coil jutting from the shore of the lake.

World Class Skiing

The Ogden valley is home to 3 resorts offering world class skiing in the winter and hiking/mountain biking in the summer. Including Snowbasin, the site of 2002 and 2034 Winter Olympic Alpine events.

Historic 25th Street

The coming of the Transcontinental Railroad built 25th Street and its hotels, bars, and shops. Commercial air travel and the Interstate freeway system rendered passenger rail travel obsolete virtually overnight.

It has been lovingly brought back to life in the form of brew pubs, restaurants, art galleries, and independently owned shops.
