City of Rocks

Emigrants of the California Trail describe the rocks here in vivid detail as "a city of tall spires,” “steeple rocks," and "the silent city." Today, this backcountry byway attracts rock climbers, campers, hikers, hunters, and those with the spirit of adventure. There's inspirational scenery, exceptional opportunities for geologic study, and remnants of the Old West awaiting your discovery.

Lava Hot Springs

Bubbling out of natural underground springs, the hot water is laden with minerals, but has no sulfur odor. Over 2.5 million gallons a day flow through the hot springs and are diverted into the Portneuf River keeping the springs ever changing and clean. The spring's temperatures range from approximately 102˚ F to 112˚ F degrees.  Our hot pools have a snow melt system in the deck around them, a cold water deck shower and canopies to block the sun or rain.

Ski the Beav at Beaver Mountain

As the oldest continuously-owned family ski resort in the US, Beaver Mountain has been dedicated to providing a place where every rider gets the personal touch since 1939. With some of Utah’s best dry fluffy powder, Northern exposure for the perfect morning sun and runs for every rider, The Beav is the ideal spot to create lifelong family memories..

Caribbean of the West (Bear Lake)

Brilliantly blue waters combined with sandy beaches are what call park visitors to play, fish, boat, and camp here at Bear Lake State Park. Minerals (calcium carbonate) suspended in the lake’s waters are what help create its spectacular aqua-blue color.

Located in the beautiful Bear Lake Valley in Rich County, there are three distinct recreation areas: Marina, Rendezvous Beach, and the Eastside, which offer a variety of recreational opportunities. Whether you plan on spending a day, weekend, or more, Bear Lake offers some of the best picnicking, camping, boating, fishing, or hiking that you will find in the great state of Utah.
